Sew Many Projects, Sew Little Time

ATTENTION: The CHARM SWAP is now closed to new participants! Thanks to all who have joined and check back later for more swaps!

Wow, it is only Tuesday and I am exhausted already.  I know that I have it much better than most because even though I have to work all the way up until Thanksgiving, I am working at a desk job. This transition to a new job is very difficult because my paid time off is practically non exsistant so even though I will have Thursdy and Friday off from work, I won’t get paid for those days. Also, because I get paid on a weekly basis if I want to try to make up the time, I have to work very long days. Yesterday I worked 10.5 hours and today will be a 10 hour day.  Tomorrow I hope to work 10.5 so that I will only be short by 7 hours and it won’t hurt too much on my paycheck!  OK, enough complaining about that. So, yesterday after work I went to a potluck turkey dinner with my sorority alumnae and collegiates. I am an alum and I really enjoy the potluck dinner that we’ve had every year since the Epsilon Sigma Chapter of Phi Mu began at UTSA in 1999 (I am a founding member of that chapter).  Wow, it’s hard to believe they’ve been around for almost 10 years already!  The scarves that I helped cut and fringe were a big success. We sold several and that will help with expenses later in the year.  Well, after the potluck was over I finally got to go home and it was after 9:00pm. I was determined to do something sewing related so I laid out the charms for my mom’s charm bag.  I also started swapping out the charms for the charm swap I am hosting. That was really fun.  The next thing I knew, it was 11:00 pm and time for bed! Where does the time go!? Tonight is a similar schedule because I work until 5:30 pm and then am going to my beginning quilting class from 7-9 pm.  Then I go home and go to sleep!  The worst part is that my hubby is completely off from school this week! That is tough. I am proud of myself for walking a mile during my break today.  I used to have a great routine where I would walk in the morning and afternoon at my other job (plus I had a friend to walk with) then when I started my new job I felt like I was chained to my computer.  Today I just decided to go out and walk!  It made me feel a lot better.  OK, hopefully more exciting stuff to report later. Sorry this is such a mundane post. I will post pictures of my double four patch block and the goodies I got on my FART (Fabric Acquisition Road Trip) next time.

 Happy Stitching!
