Organizing Your PIG Sty

So, Wendy, also known as scrappylady, had a great idea for organizing the PIG Sty (Projects In Grocery Sacks).  She is going to gather all the materials to make an item and put that together, with the pattern and tie it all together.  That way, everything is easy to see and choose from! Since I love to buy pre cut kits, this sounds like an awesome idea! It will be like shopping in your own home! So, does anyone else have a new idea for organizing that PIG Sty?   Please share your ideas in the comments below.

Happy Organizing,

Anna

    Hey Anna,
Found your blog through Ruthie, we’re in an apron exchange together. I just reorganized my sewing/craft room and I did the PIG Sty thing too, except I used stand up brown grocery bags and wrote with a Sharpie on the side of the bag what “kit” is inside. I also have stackable plastic see-through boxes that seperate all my fabrics by color and/or style, i.e. all 30’s prints, blenders, batiqs, wools, etc. Then I also used the same plastic boxes for each of the following: patterns, “what nots”, wood crafts, embroidery floss, paints & brushes.

I love this idea. I love ziploc bags for this sort of thing. I often cut several projects and keep them in ziploc bags with instructions and any notions needed.
